It is possible and will be charged through this connector, but you need to put a jumper in order for the phone to work fully, otherwise it will be in handsfree mode (headphones icon on the screen)

Really enjoy that you make this phone slightly more usable by changing charging port to USB C. I know its old but telco nowadays slowly ended their 2G services to make way for 4G and 5G.
